Tony Briggs

Sunderland-born and bred Tony Briggs began his career as a freelance photographer and film director working for The BBC, Channel 4, Acid Jazz, Go-Discs, MCA Universal and the London style magazines; i-D, The Face, LOADED and Dazed & Confused. "Tone has had the Midas touch all along, doing the first portrait sessions for Sacha Baron-Cohen, Kate Moss, Bill Bailey and Jimmy Carr. They no longer return his calls. Still, many do and he has consistently worked with some of the world's finest comedians, sporting heroes, musicians and actors for some of the world's leading publications and agencies." Tony's also known for his work with Ocean Colour Scene during the 90's producing the album covers for 'Moseley Shoals' and 'Marchin' Already' as well as directing the films for 'Hundred Mile High City', 'Better Day' ,'It's a Beautiful Thing' and his feature documentary film 'Scene'. TV appearances have included a commercial endorsement for Carl Zeiss lenses, appearing as a mentor in BBC2's acclaimed documentary series 'Apply Immediately' and in the 'I am PC' campaign for Microsoft. Awards include the LPA 'London Photographer of the Year' and numerous advertising campaign awards, which mean absolutely nothing. Tony is an avid campaigner for the socialist Project for Peace and Justice, he lives in North Essex with his wife and two daughters on their small holding and still blindly supports Sunderland Association Football Club. He continues to work with selected agencies and performers, shooting commercials, digital content and stills campaigns.
