Deva's short films have screened at BAFTA, Academy Award, BIFA, European Film Award and Canadian Screen Award qualifying festivals. They have won six awards and been nominated for seventeen. These prizes include: Silver Plaque at Chicago International Film Festival-2003 and joint runner-up BBC New Filmmakers award 2004 for Fishy; Best Trailer Award at LA Underground Film Forum 2017, Platinum Award for Best Trailer at Mindfield Film Festival 2017 Los Angeles, Best Trailer Award at Creation International Film Festival 2017 for Finding Clive Teaser Trailer. Deva is a BAFTA Connect member; an alumni of BAFTA Crew; the BFI Guiding Lights Scheme, where she was mentored by Gurinder Chadha; and also the Berlinale Talent Campus. Originally trained as an actress at Guildhall School of Music and Drama on a scholarship, Deva spent a summer studying filmmaking at NYU, on a William and Eva Fox Fellowship and is still greatly influenced by Prof. Karl Bardosh's hands-on approach to filmmaking. "I've been working day and night for the last three years on Blue, feature film with an outstanding team and its so exciting that it's just been released on Amazon Prime Video USA, UK and Canada."
